Born and raised in Park Ridge, Illinois, John’s roots run deep in the Chicagoland area. A 1999 graduate of Maine South H.S., he went on to obtain his bachelor’s degree from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University. Anyone who knows John wasn’t surprised when he returned to Park Ridge to raise a family and run his business.
Don't be fooled by his age, John has a wealth of experience. He has been a licensed producer in the State of Illinois since 2002, a Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) since 2006 and the owner of his own firm since 2007. As his career has grown, so have his charitable endeavors. John has been on the executive board of organizations that raise money for Lurie Children’s Hospital (Children’s Memorial) and Riley Hospital for Children (Indianapolis). He has been a “Child Life” volunteer at Advocate Children’s Hospital (Lutheran General) and served on the board of the local Kiwanis chapter.
Currently, John is serving as the Commissioner of the Park Ridge Hawks travel basketball program, a program with over 200 boys and girls involved. John had coached in the program for 10 years prior to becoming the commissioner. He was also a player in the program many years ago.
John and his wife, Alaina, currently have a 3 year old daughter and a 2 year old son, and are expecting a new addition to the family in March 2015. Besides spending time with his family, John also enjoys playing and watching both basketball and golf. He cheers, loyally, for the Bears, Bulls, Blackhawks, and Hoosiers. He cheers, regrettably, for the Cubs. His feelings towards the White Sox are indifferent.
John Moran is licensed to do business in the states of Illinois, Ohio, Minnesota, Florida, California and Colorado.
